The Oro Valley Cup is an annual golf tournament held the first Friday in February to raise money for Project Graduation for the three high schools in the Amphitheater School District. The Oro Valley Cup consists of 18 holes of golf, lunch provided by Jersey Mike’s, a raffle, an auction, dinner, and much more. This day of golf and fun is the largest fundraiser for the schools and all proceeds are split equally among Amphi, Canyon del Oro & Ironwood Ridge High Schools.
What is Project Grad?
The short answer is… a safe, drug and alcohol-free graduation party!
Project Graduation is celebrating 15 years of incident and accident free all-night graduation events for 1200 high school graduates from Amphitheater, Canyon del Oro and Ironwood Ridge High Schools in the Amphi district. This community sponsored effort keeps both graduates and our community residents safe on a night law enforcement believes could be the most dangerous of their young lives. It also serves as an example to our kids that celebrations do not need to include drugs or alcohol to be fun! Immediately following their graduation ceremony graduates proceed directly to completely transformed venues at their respective high schools where they will be entertained with activities, food, and prizes to keep them busy all night long. The events end around 5:00 a.m. the following morning –graduates are tired but safe! The financial and volunteer support of the community to make this event successful each year is greatly needed and truly appreciated.
